Everything clinicians, lab owners, and DSO operations leads ask us before their first case.

What is COSMODENTAL DESIGNS?+

COSMODENTAL DESIGNS is an internationally focused dental CAD design partner. Specialist dentist-designers with 10+ years' clinical experience design surgical guides, crowns, veneers, bridges, aligners, full-arch prosthetics, and implant components for practices, labs, and DSOs — with 3-day standard delivery included free and optional 6-hour, 24/7, or same-hour add-ons.

Which CAD software do you use?+

Our primary workflow is ExoCAD (DentalCAD and exoplan for surgical planning). We can accept 3Shape files on request and deliver in formats compatible with any downstream mill or printer.

Which file formats can I upload?+

STL, PLY, OBJ, and ZIP archives for intraoral scans and design references. DICOM / CBCT volumes for surgical guide planning. If your workflow exports something unusual, send it — we'll tell you within a day whether we can process it natively.

Which intraoral scanners are compatible?+

Any scanner that exports standard STL. We routinely process files from iTero, 3Shape Trios, Medit i500 / i700, Sirona Primescan / Omnicam, Carestream CS 3600 / 3700, Shining3D Aoralscan, and Planmeca Emerald.

What files do I get back?+

The native ExoCAD project (so your in-house team can iterate) plus a neutral STL / PLY export ready to mill or print. Every delivery includes a design log with designer initials, software version, and revision history for your records.

Do you support all implant systems?+

Yes — Straumann, Nobel Biocare, MegaGen, Neodent, Zimmer, Dentsply Sirona, Osstem, and all major compatibility libraries. Custom kits and analogs are supported on request.

How is pricing structured?+

Core restorative work (crowns, bridges, veneers, single-unit implant crowns) uses volume-tiered per-unit pricing: $9.90/unit under 50/month, $7.90/unit for 50–199/month, $5.90/unit at 200+/month. Surgical guides, full-arch design, and clear aligner cases are quoted per case because they require materially more planning effort. See the pricing page for full detail.

How fast can I actually get a design back?+

Free 3-day standard delivery is included on every package. Add-ons let you go faster: 6-hour turnaround (+$3.90/unit), 24/7 availability (+$1.90/unit), and same-hour crowns & bridges (+$7.90/unit). Add-ons are stackable — combine them however your caseload demands.

Do I get a dedicated case manager?+

Yes — every package, from Starter to Scale, includes a named case manager who owns your cases from submission through delivery and follow-up. No ticket queues, no re-explaining context between shifts. One person, accountable for your workflow.

Is the free offer real?+

Yes. Every new account gets 3 free designs — crowns, veneers or a bridge (up to 3 units) — used automatically on your first cases before any card payment. They're valid for 1 month from sign-up.

Do you offer a free trial design?+

Yes — 3 free designs (crowns, veneers or a bridge) for every new client, so you can benchmark our quality against your current provider before committing to volume.

Are your designers actual dentists?+

Yes. Every COSMODENTAL DESIGNS designer is a specialist dentist or ex-practising clinician with a minimum of 10 years' experience across implant, crown & bridge, orthodontic, and full-arch workflows. No offshore templating, no generalist auto-output.

How is COSMODENTAL DESIGNS different from AI-generated design services?+

AI tools are excellent accelerators, but they cannot make clinical judgments about occlusion, tissue biology, or edge cases. Every COSMODENTAL DESIGNS case is designed by a human clinician-designer who uses AI to accelerate their workflow — never to replace their judgment.

Who is the legal manufacturer of the device?+

The commissioning dentist or dental laboratory remains the legal manufacturer of record under MDR and GDC guidance, because custom-made devices are made against your prescription. COSMODENTAL DESIGNS is a design partner: we produce the CAD design, we do not manufacture, fit, or dispense the device. Every case ships back with a full design log so you can evidence how the file was produced. Full detail on the Compliance page.

How do you handle patient data?+

Case files are stored in EU data centres, encrypted with TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest, retained for 24 months by default, and deletable on request within 30 days. We ask you not to include patient identifiers in upload filenames or DICOM headers where practical. Full policy on the Privacy and Compliance pages.

Do you hold ISO 13485 or an MHRA manufacturer registration?+

No — not currently, and we won't pretend otherwise. If your workflow requires a supplier holding either, we'll tell you upfront that we aren't the right partner.

How do I submit a case?+

Create an account or send your details from the contact page. Once your account is set up you'll get a secure single-use upload link per case, plus a direct chat with your assigned designer.
